Head Football Coach David Kintigh is going into his 4th year as head coach here at Melbourne high school. Coach Kintigh grew up here in Brevard County and attended and was a multi-sport athlete at Delaura Junior high school, and Satellite high school. Coach Kintigh participated in football, Basketball and Baseball in high school. After graduation coach Kintigh attended The University of Miami on full scholarship to play football. While attending the University of Miami coach Kintigh played for coaches Howard Schnellenberger and Jimmy Johnson. Coach Kintigh was a four-year letterman and was on a team that played in three National Championship games in four years. Winning the National Championship in 1983.
Coach Kintigh began his coaching career in South Florida as an assistant coach at Southridge Senior High for 6 years 2003 to 2009. From there Coach Kintigh helped as an offensive assistant at Miami Palmetto high school in 2010 and 2011. In 2012 coach Kintigh was a member of the staff at Christopher Columbus high school in Miami Florida. While at Columbus high school coach Kintigh was a running backs coach, Tight ends coach, Special teams coach and the Head JV coach during the years of 2013 and 2014. In 2015 coach Kintigh came to Melbourne high school to return to his home of Brevard County. Coaching at Melbourne High Coach Kintigh was the offensive coordinator as well as the offensive line coach. Coach Kintigh coached from 2015 to 2018 before taking time off from coaching in 2019. In 2020 coach returned as the tight ends coach.
2021 Coach Kintigh started his Head Coaching run. While Melbourne High Schools head football coach the team has won the district title 2 years in a row, as well as making it to the regional finals in 2021 and the regional semi-finals in 2022. 2021 had an overall record being 11-3 while the 2022 record was 10-3.
Jeff was born in Lakeland, FL but grew up in Melbourne Beach. He played youth football with the South Beach Seahawks and the Melbourne PAL Bulldogs. Jeff graduated from Melbourne High School in 2007 and was a 4yr letterman who played both running back and linebacker. Jeff also played baseball and was a 3yr letterman on Varsity which won 3 straight district and Cape Coast Conference Championships under Coach Donovan. Jeff graduated College at UCF in 2010 with a Bachelors in Coaching Sports Education. He began his coaching career at Melbourne High School in 2010 and has worked alongside Coach Scott Grish as his right hand man defensively since 2010. Next season will mark Jeff's 14th year coaching at Melbourne. Jeff's brother played football from 1999-2002 and he played from 2003-2007, football has been a part of his life going on 25 years.
Jeff has two beautiful children Giovanni and Luca who are future Bulldogs and he wouldn't be able to do any of these things without his best friend and beautiful wife Elisa.
Lyle Naber grew up in the Melbourne area. He played quarterback at Palm Bay High and Melbourne Central Catholic. . He was a member of the 2002 Palm Bay High Football State Championship Team. He graduated from MCC in 2004. He played two seasons at North Carolina Wesleyan College. Coach Naber began his coaching career at Florida Air Academy in 2006 as Co-Offensive Coordinator until 2008. In 2009 Coach Naber moved to North Carolina to coach at Catawba College until 2012 as an offensive assistant, serving as Tight Ends and Tackles Coach. In 2013 Coach Naber moved back to the Melbourne area to Coach at Florida Tech as the Tight Ends coach for 2 seasons. From 2015 to 2017, Coach Naber was the Offensive Coordinator at Bayside High School. He Coached at Palm Bay High for 3 seasons. He is currently entering his 3rd season as a Coach at Melbourne High and 1st year as Offensive Coordinator.
Coach Naber resides in Palm Bay and has a 7year old Daughter.
Coach Washington is the passionate new Defensive Line Coach on the football staff. He brings with him over 18 years of personal experience in the sport, including playing every position on the defensive line at the division 1 level. As a former full scholarship student-athlete at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he earned his bachelor’s in public health Sciences in 2021. Coach Washington then transferred to Southern Illinois as a 1-year graduate transfer on a full scholarship and is currently in his final year of his master's in health administration.
While at UMass, Coach Washington demonstrated exceptional resilience and determination. Despite multiple major injuries and coaching changes, he remained steadfast in his academic and athletic pursuits, attributing his perseverance to self-belief, strong confidence, and faith in God.
Coach Washington takes pride in being a Melbourne high school alumni and eagerly brings his experiences back to the field as a coach. His coaching philosophy centers on the holistic development of his players. He emphasizes not only their growth as athletes, but also their evolution into well-rounded individuals off the field
Coach Washington’s journey through personal adversities, coupled with his academic achievements, uniquely positions him to mentor young athletes. His message to his team resonates with his own life’s testament: “You can achieve anything you set your mind to if you create a goal and devote time and effort towards it”.
Jerry Freese graduated from Eau Gallie in 1989 and started his college football career at Trinity Valley in Texas. He then transferred to University of Arkansas and finished his college career at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. He participated in the Blue–Gray Football Classic Annual American college football game and was a three time All American. After graduating with his bachelor's in criminal justice, Jerry played as a linebacker with the NFL for the Kansas City Chiefs. He played in the World League with the Scotland Claymores. Jerry coached at West Melbourne for ten years and is entering his fifth-year coaching at Melbourne High. His son Carson is currently playing football at Presbyterian College and his daughter Camryn is a senior at Melbourne High. His wife is in her 6th year of volunteering with football and is a current board member.
Born & raised in South Brevard. Three year-varsity starter in high school at Quarterback, along with winning a district title at Mel High in 2013-2014. After graduating from Melbourne High, went on to Arkansas to play college football as a starting QB and WR and then graduating from Webber International University with a degree in Business Management!
After training multiple kids through Brevard County, this is my FIRST year coaching high school football!

Melbourne High graduate in 2009 was a 3yr Lettermen and District champ in 2007 and 2008.
After high school he played defensive back at Gannon University/ Clark Atlanta University while getting his associate degree.
Fortunate to be back in the area and coaching, giving back to Melbourne High School, Go bulldogs.
