Chad Kirk was raised in southwestern Virginia and moved to Brevard County in 1986, where he attended Hoover Junior High and graduated from Melbourne High School. After graduation he attended Florida State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science Education in 1996. Dr. Kirk was a proud member of the Florida State University Marching Chiefs during his years in Tallahassee. After graduation, Dr. Kirk moved back to Brevard County to begin his teaching career. He enjoyed teaching history at Hoover Middle School, Bayside High School, and Melbourne High School before entering graduate school for educational leadership. Dr. Kirk earned his Master of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2003 and his Doctor of Education degree from Florida State University in 2019. During his administrative career, Dr. Kirk served as assistant principal/dean at Central Middle School from 2004-2008 and as Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at Jefferson Middle School from 2008-2012. He was appointed Principal at Central Middle School in 2012. In 2015, Dr. Kirk was privileged to be appointed principal at his alma mater, Melbourne High School. As the “Head Bulldog,” Dr. Kirk is focused on delivering a high quality education to all students in a culture of dedication, collaboration, learning. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, travel, sports, playing the saxophone, and cheering for his Seminoles!
Mr. Meegan has worked at Melbourne High School since the fall of 2000. He previously taught Biology, Integrated Science, as well as Science Research. In June of 2005, he joined the school administrative staff. Currently, he works with 12th grade students, handling their discipline, attendance and teacher concerns. Areas that he oversees include the Science Department, Advanced Placement, Student-Athlete academic issues, Campus Security, MHS Custodial staff, as well as facility issues that may occur on the 43- acre campus. Previously, he served as the administrator overseeing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Summer School, School Improvement Plan, Student Registration, and Homecoming/Prom.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education & Sport Management from the State University of New York at Cortland. During his time at Cortland, he ran cross-country & track and was able to study and train under Dr. Jack T. Daniels, a world-renowned exercise physiologist. Later, he earned his Master of Arts degree in Exercise Physiology & Cardiac Rehabilitation from Adelphi University. While there, he worked as a graduate assistant supervising the athletic performance lab and cardiac wellness program. Upon graduation, he worked as the Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation for several different cardiologists. He also served as the Head Coach of Men’s & Women’s Cross Country/ Track & Field at Stony Brook University. In seven seasons at Stony Brook, Meegan coached 10 All-Americans in Track & Field, and had two athletes compete in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He was also instrumental in designing a new, state-of-the-art strength & conditioning facility on campus. In addition, he coached several post-collegiate athletes who ran for Asics and Reebok. Before moving into school administration, he completed coursework for the Modified Core in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.
The Austin, Texas, native attended Austin McCallum High and then Tarleton State, earning his business administration degree there in 2006. Raymond coached from 2013-19 for the Panthers. He was an offensive line coach and run-game coordinator for the last three seasons before the program was dropped. He and his family live in the Viera area. Prior to his time at FIT, he coached at UTEP, Tarleton State, Midwestern State and New Mexico Highlands. He coached the offensive line at Melbourne High for a year after leaving FIT but spent this past season focusing on the demands of his job there as a testing coordinator. "I'm very detail-oriented, not just on the field but off the field," Raymond said. "Focus on the details. Those are the things that matter the most."
